“Who am I? It was the question I kept asking myself. For the most of my Christian life, I lived a double life of partying and serving God. It was enjoyable at the start, but the tension frustrated me increasingly every day. It led to an unhealthy lifestyle of alcohol and drugs, and it almost destroyed my relationship with Acacia. My dream wanting to be a famous artiste was tearing our four-year relationship apart as she wanted to follow God’s dream. The problem was not with the drugs, alcohol, partying or dreams of being famous, but me allowing them to take control of my life.  I remember I woke up one morning, with my engagement on the verge of destruction, I cried out to Jesus, declaring that I give Him all control of my life. However, God did not want me to discard my dream. After we got married, He redirected it when we came to do a Sound of the Nations DTS 2016 and staffing a DTS now in YWAM Muizenberg. I share the heart of Sound of the Nations in using music as a platform to draw out the sound God has given every culture and ethnic group. Even though I fail every day, God uses YWAM and Acacia to transform me into the man that God wants me to be. The natural tendency whenever I fail is to condemn myself, but one reality that has stayed true throughout my whole life is that my walk with God is not dependent on how faithless I am, but on how faithful God is.”
